COMMENT TO: Who Speaks For President Mills?

I have been instructed by His Majesty, the Odikro, to extend to you his fraternal greetings!

It gives us so much pleasure that we can say so sincerely that this is a piece that Nana Odikro showed profound interest when his attention was drawn to it this evening. Said Nana, "Very relevant and straight to the mark!" after reading it.

Nana shares the view that since Rawlings loves his wife more than the President, it is not fair to call him a “Konongo Kaya” in less that two years into his administration, simply because his wife wants to become the president of Ghana!
His majesty The Odikro was extremely satisfied with your analysis of the state of affairs within the NDC.

There is no doubt, that Rawlings remains a hugely respected figure within the NDC, which he founded, whilst a military dictator, as a vehicle to enable him to hand over power to himself, under the Fourth Republican Constitution. There is also no doubt that this shameful orchestration to undermine the President under the pretext of such gibberish as accusing President Mills of “refusal to pursue the moral mandate of the people to reinstate truth, transparency and most of all justice into the fabric and psyche of the nation”, shall backfire.

The Rawlingses are exposing themselves as the genuine greedy bastards that they have been all along! In the process, they are whittling away the respect they enjoyed in a cocoon of a party they built for themselves and their children.

Whatever the outcome of this conflict, it is becoming increasingly clear that apart from kowtowing the whims and caprices of the Rawlings family, the founder of the party never intended it to be otherwise.

We see the current attempt from day one to undermine the Mills Administration as a clear sign that the evil plot to replace the president has nothing to do with his performance, but dependent upon a private family agenda.

This is where the Rawlingses expose themselves to their own party§ members as to their real intentions. This is where President Mills stands strong in view of the astonishing ambitions behind these machinations. The fight is on for the soul of the party, if indeed it has any ideals worth subscribing to. By discrediting themselves in such a shameful manner, I am sure they are slowly but surely alienating themselves from their own party, and soon the President will have to respond.

Nana also wishes to express his admiration for the president for remaining focused on the day-to-day management of the state and not distracted by these two ruffians! The best strategy, we believe is the one taken by the presidency to allow Rawlings to dig his own grave! There is an Ewe proverb, which Rawlings is very familiar with. It says, "If the yam rots in the barn, it comes down by itself" Rawlings is a half rotten yam. Give him a few more weeks, he is going to obey the laws of gravity!

We salute "the Three Juniors," Messrs. Kwesi Pratt, Jnr., Kweku Baako, Jnr., Egbert Faibille Jnr., and the many ordinary Ghanaians who are using these comments pages to pour their condemnation of such unbelievable display of the tempers of  daylight robbers by the former president and his wife!

We call upon all right-thinking Ghanaians to support one of the best Presidents in the history of our country, and to resist any attempts to return to Ghana to the PNDC days!
