Re: NPP Flagbearership: My Choice for Election 201
Hi grandson,
I like the way you speak the truth sometimes!
You write:
"You see, this is not the colonial era when experience with local politics was virtually synonymous with being a traitorous collaborator."
This line is very good. It reminds me of a certain Gold Coast politician whose highest political ambition was to become a humble servant of her imperial majesty's colony of the Gold Coast! I think at Kyebi, we used to call him Kobina Kyeretwie. Does the name ring a bell?
This individual in question is also known as Dr. Joseph Boakye Danquah. He was my own half-brother and I suppose, just like me, your maternal granduncle!
Next time you make such general statements, try to give concrete examples from history. The most glaring were your own granduncle J.B and Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia, who was also a Colonial District Commissioner!
How can the Busia-Danquah neo-colonialist tradition complain about "traitors"? What else would you be doing if you abandoned this tradition of selling out Ghanaians to the imperialists?
Your cousin, Nana Akuffo Addo is surely going to win the NPP contest. If you were not congenitally stupid, you would be directing your pen to seek reconciliation among yourselves rather than seeking to expand the wedge. But that is your business, not mine!
My business is building my own party, the CPP. This is already not an easy task, given the fact that there are very powerful interests that would not like to see us rise up and lift high the flag of Ghana and make our nation great and strong, bold to defend forever, the cause of freedom and liberty!
But it shall not be long. The CPP is going to take over from the NPP as the largest opposition in parliament in the 2012 elections! And if you like, we shall make our first real dash at it in 2016.
I can assure you however that from the level of growing political awareness in the country, it is very safe to assume that we shall be back in power by 2020! God willing! In the meanwhile, considering the balance of forces, and how evil the NPP has proved to be, we shall make sure that we do not rock the boat too much to let it slip again into their thieving hands!
Forward Ever! Backwards Never!!!
Cheers!
